Pay per click (PPC) advertising
Pay Per click (PPC) adverts are the results you see in a column to the right, or sometimes above, Google results. You also see them on other search engine results pages.
We can work with you to get the best possible results from your Pay Per click (PPC) campaign.
How Pay Per click (PPC) works
As a web user, you simply click on the ad and are taken to the site which has paid for it. You may be linked to the home page or to a page within the site.
As an advertiser, you set up a Pay Per click (PPC) account with the search engine or search engines of your choice. There is a one off charge of a few pounds, then your credit card will be charged with the ongoing advertising costs.
The Pay Per click (PPC) process
This may vary from one search engine to another, but the principles are the same. Detailed instructions are on the various sites.
- Select things like the languages, countries and domains where you want your ads to appear
- Choose the words or phrases you want to buy. Your ad will appear when someone enters the words and phrases you choose
- Decide how much you are prepared to pay for each showing of the ad. This will affect the ranking of your ad and how often it appears
- Set the daily Pay Per click (PPC) spending cap for your campaign
- Write the ad itself, you have a very limited number of words so choose them carefully
- Choose where the link will go to in your site, it does not have to be the home page
- Once you have set up the campaign your ad will appear when your chosen words or phrases are entered - but you only pay if someone actually clicks on your ad
It's possible to set up and run a Pay Per click (PPC) campaign yourself, but we have a great deal of knowledge and experience to draw upon to maximise the effect of your campaign and reduce unnecessary costs. In the vast majority of cases we get you more clicks for less money.
